"As part of safety research on England’s motorways, Highways England identified compliance issues with overseas HGV drivers. We commissioned MIS 2 phases of research looking first at Information needs of this niche group and then at preferred communication methods.
Through MIS we were able to survey hard to reach HGV drivers in their home country in their own language and translate it back.
The research is now being used to shape campaign materials and enabled us to partner with the motorway buddy app.
Ultimately the work has been key to help understand HGV drivers and make the motorway network safer."
