MRS pays tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

MRS joins the nation and the wider world in mourning the loss of Her Majesty The Queen. We offer our condolences to the Royal Family at this very sad time.

Queen Elizabeth II leaves a remarkable legacy through the business, charities and individuals where she has had such an impact, many of which were supported by the research community.

As a sector that aims to understand and fairly represent every aspect of British society, such a momentous event will impact the mood of the nation, and have lasting repercussions for us all; in the work and lives of our members, colleagues, friends and family.

In a speech before the UN in 2010, Queen Elizabeth II said:

"I know of no single formula for success. But over the years I have observed that some attributes of leadership are universal and are often about finding ways of encouraging people to combine their efforts, their talents, their insights, their enthusiasm and their inspiration to work together." 

We will remain forever grateful for Queen Elizabeth II's decades of public service as the longest-reigning British monarch.
