MRS Main Board Election 2025: Call for Nominations

We are looking for our next MRS Chair Designate plus two members to join the Main Board of MRS. We would like to ask you to consider whether this is something you would be interested in doing; to make a contribution to the success of MRS leading the UK’s £9bn research sector.

You’ll be aware from this year’s MRS Annual Review that the research, insight and data sector is continuing to innovate, leveraging the opportunities from AI and related technologies, whilst showing resilience against tightening market conditions. You will have also noticed that MRS, as your representative body, is continuously developing to do its job more effectively, including undertaking sectoral initiatives on inclusion and sustainability in addition to a wide ranging standards and policy programme of activity.

The MRS Main Board drives this change – if you think you have something to offer – new ideas or energy or new perspectives - please think about standing in the election. We need people who want to see the research, insight and data sector develop and succeed.

MRS Main Board

We are seeking two Main Board members to join the Main Board from April 2025. Any grade of member is eligible to sit on the MRS Main Board.

Chair-Designate

We are also seeking a Chair-Designate for MRS to start from April 2025. We would like to ask those of you who are recognised at the Certified Member or Fellow grades to consider whether this is something you would be interested in doing, to make a contribution to the activities of MRS; or if you may know other members of MRS who you think would be suitable for this role.

The MRS Chair-Designate (who becomes Chair after one year as Chair-Designate) leads the Main Board which drives this change. The role is open to those MRS Members who are recognised at the Certified Member or Fellow grades and who have held these grades for at least two years (including any period as a “Full Member” prior to the re-designation of that category). We need people who really want to see the research, insight and data sector develop and succeed.
