Call for contributions and speakers for the MRSpride SHOW UP! Insight Summit 2024

On 8 October this year, MRSpride will host SHOW UP 2024, the only insight summit of its kind, a platform for LGBTQ+ insight and voices. The day will be followed by networking drinks for LGBTQ+ researchers and allies to convene and meet new industry friends.

MRSpride is a vibrant community of LGBTQ+ people and allies from across the data, analytics and research sector, as such we welcome people from all walks of business and life. All MRSpride events are free to access thanks to the support of our Principal Sponsor, YouGov.

Today, we launch our call for contributions for SHOW UP 2024.

Submission deadline: Wednesday 26 June 

We continue to be so proud of the work and contribution to our community that has been showcased in the last few years. This year, we’d like to focus submissions on two key themes, and we’ll build our programme from there.

Activating change

Through SHOW UP, we are committed to providing a platform to varied research and voices.

• We welcome submissions from researchers and clients that showcase work they have carried out into LGBTQ+ communities, experiences, and circumstances.
• We would love to create platforms that allow us to reflect, discuss and challenge the status quo, and help provide solutions to increasing representation and overturning the challenges that stop our community from flourishing, in the UK and globally. Perhaps you have a panel you’d love to chair or an idea for a panel you’d love to take part in?
• Do you have ideas for a session that might encourage active participation in a debate or discussion?

Celebrating our community

Standout contributors and contributions to previous years’ SHOW UP events have created opportunities for individuals to shine through, be human, stand up for what matters to them (personally and professionally).

• Do you have a challenge you’d like to put to the audience about how we could work or live differently?
• A personal or professional story to share that would be inspiring and motivating and fuel change?
• Do you know someone from another industry who is a brilliant speaker and who might share some of their experiences with us?

We are keen to provide a platform as much to senior LGBTQ+ leaders, as to junior and up-and-coming LGBTQ+ talent. We will carefully prepare all those who contribute (so, if you’ve never taken part in a conference before, rest assured that you’ll have lots of briefing and support).

Contributors from lesser-heard-from parts of the LGBTQ+ community are especially encouraged to get in touch, including the trans, bi and intersex communities, as well as LGBTQ+ people with intersectional identities. If you know of someone from these communities who might like to contribute, please share this article with them. We are committed to building the most inclusive programme we can.

Within our programme, we intend to host a panel with people who help to organise LGBTQ+ colleague networks within their organisations, so if this is you, please do get in touch too.
