MRS’s Storytelling conference will showcase skilful and creative examples of how to present research to maximise its impact and engagement with stakeholders. It will explore how to transform data and information into meaningful and persuasive narratives that stir emotions, embed deep understanding, inspire and drive change.

We plan to showcase:

  • Experimental and pioneering approaches to storytelling from insight professions
  • Case studies that demonstrate AI’s capability to assist with telling complex and holistic stories, to tailor stories for different audiences and to immerse and captivate audiences in targeted data driven stories
  • Great examples of storytelling from outside of the insight industry – what can we learn from Tik Tok influencers, filmmakers, journalists, podcasters and activists?
  • Creative examples of presenting findings through video, podcasts, voice, immersive techniques, workshops etc.
  • New frameworks for storytelling that are maximising the impact of insight stories
  • Applications of storytelling used for engagement and consultation, to achieve strategic aims or to foster deeper collaboration within teams and across organisations

If you’d like to contribute to our 2025 event please send in a submission for a:

  • CASE STUDY (30mins) – Demonstrate the application of innovative storytelling techniques which have brought your research findings to life and maximised the impact of your insight.
  • SKILLS TUTORIAL (30mins) – Deliver a session that provides tips and tools for transforming storytelling.
  • NO SLIDES PANEL SESSIONS (30mins) - Convene and lead a panel that will generate a thought-provoking discussion around storytelling.
  • IN CONVERSATION WITH… (30mins) - Lead a one-to-one interview style session which brings together an agency and client for a topical conversation about a recent research project

A quick note on our selection criteria:

If you have a recent research project that you’d like to showcase or a conference session idea please submit a brief synopsis (approx. 200 words) for consideration by Friday 21st February to conference@mrs.org.uk.
