What the Operations Network means to us
What does operations mean to us? Well, to put it simply, operations is the driving force behind our business.
It’s everything from keeping on top of trends to pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones. It’s a team effort, and if we all muck in and work together, there are no limits to what we can do.
That’s why the MRS Operations Network is such a great resource, as it provides opportunities to chat to likeminded people within the industry, fine tune ideas, share knowledge, and learn from each other.
A little bit about us
At Angelfish, we’re a fieldwork agency with a difference. We know everyone says that, but with us it’s true. What makes us different? Well, for starters, we’ve been championing flexible working since before it was cool.
Plus, our people-centric culture sits at the heart of everything we do - and it’s this passion for people that has resulted in long-lasting, fulfilling relationships with our clients. As our brilliant Project Manager Belle puts it:
“The thing that initially attracted me to market research was Angelfish - I wanted to work for a business that truly valued people, their thoughts, and their opinions - and that’s at the heart of what Angelfish do!”
A little bit about our team
We’ve been on a journey throughout the years - and you know what they say, you can’t enjoy a road trip without decent company! Luckily though, we’re spoiled by our wonderful RAS accredited team who all work together to ensure we provide the best possible client experience:
Client services
Our client services team are skilled at interpreting briefs and objectives so we can provide a truly consultative approach around methodology and sample. They love to get on the phone and chat things through and are always keen to offer their experience and bring extra value to the projects.
Client Services Exec Harry sums it up superbly: “One of my favourite things about working for Angelfish is the variety. I also love that I get to chat to so many different companies and people within them.”
Project management
Next up, we have our project teams which consist of two “sub-teams” made up of either a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, and a Project Executive and Project Administrator.
We’ve evolved these teams over time to maximise quality and efficiency whilst also ensuring that our clients have the most seamless experience possible. Each sub-team has incredible communication processes, and everyone relies on one another to perform their function to the highest standard.
As Senior Project Manager Molly puts it, “It’s the best feeling when we manage to crack a really tricky recruit and get the best results for our clients.”
Operations
Finally, we’ve got the ops team who cover a wide array of functions across the business, from project delivery through to people management, employee engagement, marketing, business strategy, and driving business growth.
Director of Operations Kelly says: “I consider myself extremely lucky to have been part of Angelfish from the outset and work with a true leader like Lisa who has implemented a people first culture. Seeing the team develop has been my biggest pleasure in recent years, in addition to being involved in various operational efficiencies.”
Operations in action
A recent example of operations in action was our decision to start using all-in-one panel management and research recruitment software. It was a pretty huge undertaking to rip up how we work and start all over again, and it definitely took some trial and error, a lot of learning, and a huge dollop of patience.
We expected a can-do approach from the team, and they certainly delivered. The results speak for themselves, with the software resulting in quicker project turnaround times, greater admin efficiencies, enhanced respondent quality, and more control over the entire recruitment process.
What’s more, it also gave our team a chance to expand their skill set and learn something new. Basically, we’ve learnt that when it comes to making a change and shaking things up, sometimes you’ve just got to go for it to reap the rewards!
So, there you have it!
As you can see, at Angelfish, operations is integral to what we do. We’re super excited to be part of the MRS Operations Network journey and believe it’s really important for the operations side of the business to shine.
