MRS Social Inclusion Group - Ethnography at the Frontline of Social Exclusion

MRS Social Inclusion Group and the Cultural Insight Forum proudly present Ethnography at the Frontline of Social Exclusion.

This exciting talk and panel event will be moderated by Dan Clay, head of Basis Social, and featuring of some of the country’s ethnographers, Becky Rowe, owner of Revealing Reality; Ella Fryer Smith, Owner of Do You: Mark Hadfield founder of Meet the 85% and Steven Lacey of The Outsiders.

Discussions will focus on two key areas.

Firstly,  we will explore the lives of socially disadvantaged people living in poverty, diving into their lives, attitudes and behaviours, what false narratives and stereotypes exist around them and how they are different from the mass mainstream.

Secondly, we will touch on how to do ethnography with the above, exploring: the strengths of this methodology, barriers, pitfalls, and common mistakes made.
